Curiosity Didn’t Kill the Cat. It Built a Podcast.
Let's have some fun and learn a few things along the way.
Hi! I'm Phillip Oakley. Many friends and teammates call me “PO” thanks to an old corporate email address that stuck. That’s what happens when you spend three decades being the energetic person who asks one more question, chases one more idea, and can't help getting curious about how someone built what they built. My favorite podcasts are the ones where the host and the guest are clearly just having fun. Not performing, not reciting talking points or trendy platitudes … just following an interesting thread wherever it goes. That's the bar here. I want to know about the person, not just mine them for a marketing tip and move on. Curiosity is how you find the stuff you didn't know you needed to hear. I'm inviting you to go looking for it with me.
Welcome to The PO Show
You know what helps make an idea stick? It's either:aShort, simple, and actionable.
A concept so stinking simple you can apply it immediately. Usually, a short nugget that’s clearly laid out and profound.
BWrapped in an unexpected, relatable story.
You find a person or story interesting enough to give your full attention, and before you realize it, you're learning through a parable full of emotional human experience, letting the credible business lessons wiggle their way into your noggin.
Regardless, it can't be boring.
Boring is expensive because boring is ignored or forgotten. The PO Show exists to wade through conversations and unpack what actually works for real marketing effectiveness and long-term brand building. We seek conversations with business owners, marketers, educators, founders, and outsiders from around the world who've actually done the work, not just talked about it on LinkedIn.
Ditch the short-term shenanigans. Hold two ideas in your head at once. Leave the shiny tech behind. What's left is curiosity and a genuinely distinctive brand — the kind people remember, and the kind they buy.
So we built the show around both.
Every conversation gets cut two ways, inspired by "The Long and the Short of It." Thanks, Les and Peter.
PO NotesThe 10–15 minute cut. Just the sharpest takeaways, full of tasty, actionable nuggets.
The Brand BuilderThe full conversation. Backstory, personality, and the tangents that turn out to matter. Undoubtedly the most memorable way to meet and learn from a guest.
A Common Giant Production
The PO Show is proudly produced by Common Giant. Every project we take on starts the same way every episode does: immersion first. Before we ever propose a strategy, we sit in the challenge, ask the questions nobody thought to ask, and actually try to understand what's really going on. Solutions come later. Understanding comes first.
That's not a slogan, it's the first step of our process, and it's the same instinct that built this show. Curious how brands go from confused to Stand Tall?
